Bereavement Leave

MTSA provides a maximum of four (4) working days leave with pay during each fiscal year to full-time employees, working over 30 hours per week, in the event of the death of an employ­ee’s mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, life partner, child, mother-in-law, father-in–law, stepson, stepdaugh­ter, stepmother, stepfather, son in-law, daughter in-law, broth­er-in-law, sister-in-law, spouse’s grandparents, parents, and grandchildren. Bereavement time is provid­ed to allow paid time away from work to prepare for and attend the services associated with the said loss. Bereavement requests should have prior approval, to the extent practical, of the appropriate supervisor. MTSA reserves the right to request documentation to support any request for bereavement leave.
